Description and provenance

Since 1915, we have cared for heritage, history and quality. From Egypt the Bach brothers brought the "very extrísima" cotton, the best quality in the world. That same name baptized, years later, the wines that Pere and Ramon Bach began to make. His vision and incredible history inspire today, a century later, the passion for ordigen and the unique style of a brand that symbolizes pleasure under the Mediterranean sun.

Bach is a winery with a very long wine tradition, its history dates back to 1915 in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (in the province of Barcelona), but it was not until the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929 that the first bottles came to light. A long time has passed since then, but the fidelity to the original spirit of the winery has remained unchanged: quality, originality and personality in all the wines and cavas that are made.

Bach Viña Extrísima Tinto is characterized by a traditional vinification: pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature and malolactic fermentation. The grapes perform a small maceration of hours together with their skins in stainless steel tanks and the yeasts are quickly added to carry out the fermentation. After this, it is racked to another tank to perform malolactic fermentation. Once finished, the wine will rest for a few months in a tank to round and soften the tannins.

To make Bach Viña Extrísima Tinto, the vines are chosen according to criteria of health, maturation, homogeneity and vegetative balance. To ensure that the vineyard remains active until the harvest without excess vigor and good exposure to sunlight, but with a faint shading, state-of-the-art agricultural practices are used and work is done together with oenology to prepare each grape with the characteristics of the wine to be made. Most of the D.O. Catalunya vineyards from which the grapes used come are located to facilitate drainage and thus avoid excess moisture.

Tasting notes

Intense cherry red colour with blond tones, which indicate the youth of the wine. Aroma with notes of fruit reminiscent of plum and red fruits. Light oak bottom. Predominance of varietal notes of cabernet sauvignon. Good balance. Soft in the mouth and presence of a certain astringency. The personality of the cabernet stands out.
