MINI BOTTLES: GLASS OR PLASTIC? A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING!

With an assortment of about 150 bottles it is normal that we find a little of everything: at the level of variety (content), you have all you want and more but this time we refer to the container (continent). Here we move between glass and plastic.

We have lovers and detractors of both. And there are many customers of www.miniboxbar.com who often, when making their order, ask us if the mini-bottles are made of plastic or glass and that is why today we wanted to reflect on this topic.

First of all it can be said that the material of the container is chosen by the manufacturer and consequently we can say little or nothing about it. Except for the case of the miniature Jack Daniel's whiskey or rum HAVANA CLUB -which can be obtained both in plastic and glass-, the rest of the references are made only with one of the two materials: you will never find a mini-bottle of Seagrams gin or glass Baileys whiskey liqueur nor can you ever give away a bottle of ABSOLUT or plastic BOMBAY SAPPHIRE .

It is not lost on anyone that plastic is much more resistant and therefore is the one that suffers the least from the "ravages" of shipments (often not as careful as we would like). It is also usually associated with less Premium bottles (and in general it tends to be so) but there are also some exceptions, such as the case of the CARDENAL MENDOZAbottle, which even being plastic costs just over 5e.

For its part, the glass gives the mini-bottle a more refined aesthetic and perhaps somewhat more similar to its 70cl counterpart. Although in most cases the distillates contained in  glass are synonymous with more Premium, this rule of three is not always met. And to show a button: we can find the Minibotellita of Vermouth MIRÓ at 0.89e or the pacharan ZOCO at 1.29e.

Moral? Choose well the spirits that you want, those that most surprise your guests and those that do not leave anyone indifferent. The "continent" is nothing more than a simple vessel at the service of mere functionality.
